Why I started The Synoptist
After years working inside the legislative process — tracking bills, building coalitions, and advising organizations through complex regulatory environments — I kept noticing the same problem: clients were paying large firms for work that got handed off to someone junior who barely knew their issue, let alone their state.
I built The Synoptist to fix that. When you work with me, you work with me. I handle the research, the relationships, and the strategy. No account managers, no junior associates, no lost context between sessions.
What I bring to the work
My practice is rooted in Georgia — the General Assembly, Atlanta City Hall, Fulton County — but extends across the South and to Capitol Hill when the work demands it. I’ve tracked legislation, drafted testimony, built coalitions, and represented clients in front of state and local bodies across more than a dozen states.
My clients include trade associations, nonprofits, corporate government affairs teams, and advocacy organizations. What they share is a need to understand what’s happening in the legislative landscape — and a desire to act within it strategically, not reactively.
The name
A synoptist is someone who takes a broad, comprehensive view — seeing across the whole field rather than fixating on a single point. That’s the work: helping clients understand not just a single bill or agency rule, but the broader terrain in which it lives. Clarity from complexity.
